30th March Gilwern to Gloucester Docks

The Big Day!!

Arrived at Gilwern at 8am ready for the lift, and thank goodness no wind today. The lorry driver and crane driver were so slick we were ready to go by 9.30, We travelled in the lorry and stopped for a truckers bacon sarnie at Symonds Yat! Arrived at Saul Junction by 1230 and the second crane was ready for us. Another slick operation and we were afloat again in the Glos and Sharpness Canal.

We have moved north to Gloucester ( wide and deep canal - 5mph!! ) and are moored in the docks redy to lock down into the River Severn tomorrow.

Hi Bob & Nicola,

Thanks for the email - I have worked out how to be a blogger in my lunch hour so here goes!

Hope everything goes well and look forward to keeping updated via the website. Have done some 'surfing' and the first stretch looks fun!

Love and best wishes,
Pat & the Norfolk crew!

Hi, thanks for chance to see your blog. Have a great time. When we get fed up of the Med we might try the canals.
Best wishes to all

Hi, just looked at your pictures and I broke out in a cold sweat. It brought back memories of that journey we made in the storm, to have our boats lifted out. Been there done that!
