Gloucester Docks to Upton on Severn

After a saunter around the warehouses at Gloucester Docks we donned our life jackets, attached the anchor to the chain and proceeded down the lock onto the Severn.
Fortunately the tide was coming in and we enjoyed speeding along the deep, wide river at 3 mph, entirely alone apart from one other narrow boat, "Laughing Gravy" moving in the same direction.
We passed under the M50, where we had passed over the Severn only 24 hours ago.
Arrived at Upton on Severn at 5,30 in time for a quick pint ( or two ) with the crew of Laughing Gravy before dinner.

Looks idillic, I'm jealous.
Whats your plan then?
I'm doing the Half marathon from Wolverhampton to Brum (Gas St) on July 4th all the way along the new main line.
